Agricultural tyres are particularly vulnerable to crown injuries and our investigations focused on optimising the repair process in this key area.
Our response is the AG series of Heat Pads, each designed to fit precisely in the tread void of Agricultural tyres.
Why do you need AG Heat Pads?
Field data shows that most crown injuries in agricultural tires occurs in the tread void area. Lower rubber mass and increased susceptibility to foreign object penetrations (I.e. stakes and rock) combine here to produce an area of particular vulnerability.
Monaflex AG Heat Pads are designed specifically for crown repairs and fit neatly into the tread void. Used alongside the Monaflex AGRI tyre repair system, these special sizes provide multiple advantages over traditional Heat Pad sizes including:
- Faster installation time.
- The Heat Pads aren’t distorted under pressure as the AG heat pad fits into the void rather than sitting above it.
- The Heat Pads therefore last longer.
- The small size results in a lower price.
What sizes are available?
The AG series is available in three specific sizes covering a range of R1 and R1-W ¹ tire sizes used in various applications – tractors, harvesters and implements.
The AG series are also suitable for the repair of forestry tires.
Each size is available in our Classic or X styles of Heat Pad and you may choose depending on your preference or the connectors on your existing Control Panel.
How they work...
Traditionally, in crown repairs using a conventional heat pad, the tread void is filled to ensure minimum distortion under pressure from the External Curing Pack. With the AG series, the only tread void to be filled is the one where the Heat Pad has been installed. Pressure will be applied evenly and consistently.

¹ R-1 and R-1W, is a tire industry standard defining the minimum designed tread depth of an agricultural traction tire. The R-1 designation is the standard tread depth. The tread depth of an R-1W tire is at least 20% deeper than the same sized R-1 tire. R-1W tires have a taller bar height, but all the other dimensions, such as overall diameter and rated load capacity, are the same between the R-1 and R-1W tires.
